Lately

Last Monday we went to the pool and my right shoulder and chest got fried! I put on sunscreen but it was only spf 15 and that obviously didn't last the 2 1/2 hours that we were there. I'm sure it's going to peel and be all gross.

Last Tuesday we had to go to San Francisco to buy some birthday gifts so we decided to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe since the kids had never been to one before. The food was actually pretty good and it was their 40th anniversary so we got free cake :)
Pretending to eat crayons and then spitting them on the floor, so much fun!

Bella went to a birthday party on Thursday. I had a hair appointment at 5:30 and when I came out at 8:00 Jason's battery was dead in his truck so I had to wait 30 minutes on AAA. We got it to start, but they battery was really weak so we replaced the battery. I didn't get home until 9:30!

Jason signed up to do a 5k on Father's day and they had a kids run that Bella wanted to do. Jason finished in 21:40! I can't even imagine running that fast. Bella's race was a sprint and she got a cookie at the finish line.

This week our days have consisted of: going to bootcamp, cleaning while Finley is napping and then going to the pool in the afternoon. The weather here has been crazy this week. It was 100 on Tuesday and 77 yesterday. I'm not complaining about the 77, it was a beautiful day!

Today we have to pack and do a few last minute things because our plane leaves for Birmingham at 6:00 AM on Saturday morning! Is it even legal for a plane to leave that early?? I'm really dreading the flight, but I can't wait until we get home. I'm hoping Finley will sleep a lot of the flight since we have to get up so early.

17 months

Finley is 17 months today. I'm amazed everyday at how fast she is growing and learning. I really wish time would slow down for a while.

She has 3 teeth coming in on top. Her 2 front teeth and one further back on her right side. That means she has 6 teeth now! There is also one on the bottom that is about to break through.
Brushing her teeth. She needs 2 brushes for all of those teeth!

She is STILL not sleeping all night, but I didn't really expect any different.

The only thing she will watch on TV is music videos and they have to be something she can dance to or she is on to something else. That is good and bad. I don't want her to be addicted to the TV, but it would be nice if she would sit down and watch a show for 20 minutes so I can get somethings done.

Her favorite toy right now is her Little People house with the mom, dad and baby.

She can jump and get both feet off the ground!
She can now climb on our bed. It was the only piece of furniture that she couldn't climb. It's pretty high of the ground, but she just pulls her self right up there.
She still loves to read her books.
She is picking up new words everyday.
Her favorite food is still anything Italian.
Her favorite snacks are baby Goldfish and Annie's fruit snacks.
As soon as we stop she thinks it's time to get out.

I love taking pictures of her when she is asleep! She looks so sweet and it's the only time she is still!

Last day of school!

Bella had field day on Tuesday. Finley and I went for a little while and we got to watch several events.
Their end of the year party was Wednesday, but we didn't make it because Fin is just a little too busy for that! Bella's teacher also made memory books for all of the kids in her class. She keeps their artwork and stories throughout the year and makes books out of them. She also adds pictures from field trips and class parties. I thought they were so cute and a great idea.

                                         Bella's memory book
                                                   Some of Bella's art

Yesterday was the last day of school! Yay! Bella went home with a friend to play for a while. Tyler went to an end of the year party at a friend's house yesterday afternoon. There were ten 13 year old boys there and they ate and swam and then probably ate some more! It's so hard to believe that we now have an 8th grader and a 2nd grader!

Finley slept until 7:30 this morning! No, not all night of course, but I will take what I can get. 7:30 is much better than 5:30 which is when she usually gets up. It probably has something to do with the fact that she only got a 45 minute nap yesterday and she went to bed an hour past her bedtime.

We are heading to the pool when Finley gets up from her nap. It's only 75 degrees here, but the pool is heated. I can't wait to see how Finley acts in the water.

Tyler's video awards

Tyler is taking video production at school. They get assigned projects and work in groups to make movies. They come up with the script, location, actors and everything else that you need in a movie.

Every year Danville has the Street Smarts Video Contest. Street Smarts is a traffic safety campaign used to teach kids how to be safe when walking or riding their bikes to school.

As one of Tyler's projects they had to make a video and submit it for the contest. Out of 80 videos Tyler's team got picked as one of the top 11.

We went to the awards ceremony a few weeks ago. They showed all the videos and then announced 1st and 2nd place. Tyler's video didn't win, but they got a $25 gift card for being in the top 11. I really thought their video was one of the best (and not just because I'm his mom!).

They are supposed to have the video's posted, but they don't yet so I will add it here when they are up. It's pretty good :)

I forgot my camera so all I had was my phone, but here is a picture of him receiving his certificate. He is the one in the middle.

See Jane Run

On Sunday I ran in the See Jane Run 5k with some of my friends from boot camp.

The morning started out pretty crappy. I woke up late, like 15 minutes before we had to leave late. Not a good way to prepare for a race! On top of that, it was raining and cold outside. The only thought going through my head was "Why did I sign up for this?!". It stopped raining by the time we got to Alameda, but it stayed cloudy which was nice because the sun was beating down on us.

I have to say that this was my favorite 5K out of all the ones I have done. The weather was perfect, the view was awesome, the course was flat as a pancake, and I did much better than I thought I would.

We ran right along the beach for most of the race!

My time was 34:01 and I was 396 out of 1262 participants. Not bad since I only ran once before the race. I forgot how good it feels to cross the finish line and I definitely plan to start doing 5k's more often.

                                                                Warming up

After the race we got champagne, chocolate and a medal!

And Finley tasted sand for the first time, a BIG handful :)

Awards night, a field trip, and girls day out

Here are a couple of pictures from Bella's field trip to Crab Cove last week. Jason and Bella both had fun and Bella was really happy because Jason got to go with her.

Bella and I had a girls day Saturday. We went to Starbucks so she could get her favorite, a Strawberries and Cream frappuccino, next we went to the toy store downtown so she could get the charm bracelet that she has been wanting. We then went to the bead store so she could make a necklace, but they didn't really have anything for kids so we went back to the toy store to get her a bracelet/necklace kit so she can make her own.  Finally, we went to get some lunch and then headed home.

Sunday we had to get a few things at the mall and we also had to pick up my race pack for the 5k I'm doing Sunday with my boot camp friends. I'm still not sure why I signed up for a 5K. I'm not looking forward to it at all and I have only ran once!
Hanging out in her stroller at the mall
Looking at all the ducks in the water.
Running away before I could get her picture.

Tuesday night was awards night at Tyler's school. He received an award for his English and History class! I'm so proud of him! To only be at this school 5 months and to be one of the three picked out of all her classes is great!

Only 4 1/2 days of school left! Yay!

9 years

Yesterday was our ninth anniversary! It's amazing how time flies. Next year we are going to have to do something big! Bella told us that is wasn't fair that Tyler got to be in our wedding and she didn't. Then I had to explain to her that we did things a little out of order, but it worked out. Then I have to warn her that she can't even think about getting married until she has graduated from college and is at least 25 and then she needs to wait at least 2 years before she even thinks about having kids ;)

As I looked through these pictures I'm amazed at how much photography has changed in just 9 years (as in change for the better). Photographers can do some amazing photos now. Weddings have changed too. They are so personalized. I love all the unique ideas that people come up with to make their wedding match their personality. I'm also amazed at how much weight Jason has lost since our wedding. I think he has lost almost 60 pounds!

The last nine years have been awesome and I look forward to the rest of our years together.

My favorite picture of my dad and me :)

The cutest ring bearer and flower girl EVER!! Tyler was such a stud in his tux!

I think this is my favorite picture of us.
