Shopping with my sister

Yesterday Jason watched the kids so Megan and I could go shopping by ourselves. I forgot how nice it was to try clothes on without kids! I did miss the kids but I only called once to check on them!

I think my favorite store is H&M. They have super cute clothes for really good prices.

Megan bought me some Toms for my birthday and I LOVE them!

We ate at The Cheesesteak Shop last night because Megan had never had a cheesesteak, can you believe that?

Today is Megan's last day here so we are going to San Francisco to sight see and eat, of course!

Food and Pictures

It finally quit raining yesterday around lunch so we were able to get out and do some things!

We ate at Luna Loca and then went to Sweet Street for candy. We walked around downtown Danville for a little bit.

Last night we went to the San Francisco Creamery for dinner and dessert. Then walked around Walnut Creek.  We had to walk off some of that ice cream!
                                               The Candy Train...Delicious!!!

She is ready to order :)

                                              Eating a pickle...YUCK!!!

Happy Friday

My sister is here!!!!!

Tyler played his first basketball game of the season yesterday. They lost, but he played really well and I think their team will be pretty good.

We ate Chinese food and went to Pinkberry for dessert last night.
                                                                  Dinner!!
                                                        Stealing food from Bella's plate
                                                  Dancing at Pinkberry :)
Fin with Mamie (what she calls Megan)

Tyler informed us last night that he is "complex and mysterious"!

Today we want to get out and about but it's raining and cold (again!) so I'm not sure how much we will get to do.

Have a great Friday!!

The Patriotic Performance

Bella had her Patriotic Performance last night and it was really cute. They sang patriotic songs and each had a speaking part about America. Bella was really belting out those songs, she was all into it! What a great way to teach history to first graders.

Bella is the one with the plain red shirt and blue pants.
I really have to get a better zoom lens for my camera! Bella is on the top row all the way to the left.

My sister gets here at 12:40 today!! I can't wait to see her!

Tyler has his first basketball game today. He is pretty pumped about it.

Jason has a meeting so the kids and I are taking Megan out to eat tonight.

Sewing and Pee

Yesterday I finally turned on my sewing machine! and I made a skirt! It's very obvious that it's my first one, but I'm just happy I got it all put together and it at least looks like a skirt. Hopefully I will get better with each one, or at least not get any worse.

We have a lot going on tonight. Bella has art after school, Tyler has basketball practice, and then Bella has her Patriotic Performance tonight at school. She is so excited about it!

Last night after I took Finley's clothes off and I was running her bath water, I noticed that she was squatting over the air vent in the bathroom. I didn't really think anything about it until she slipped and when I picked her up I noticed the pee all over the floor and down the vent. I'm not exactly sure why she chose to pee there, but she likes sticking stuff down the vent so I guess she thought "why not my pee too"!

Presidents Day

Jason is off work, the kids are out of school and Finley slept til 7:30!!! She didn't sleep all night, of course, but 7:30 is much better than 5:30!

We ate lunch at Fat Maddie's again and then went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream.
I should have never, ever let her try Coke because now she loves it and yells when I don't let her have it!!

Waiting on a bite of ice cream from Tyler.
                                             Dancing at Baskin Robbins!

                                                Reading her books :)

Bella and I went to the fabric store and they are moving so everything was on sale. Their patterns were $.50 each, so I got a bunch of patterns and some cute fabric. I saved $177.78!!! Hopefully I can get something made this week.

It's always crazy to me that clothes will show in up in the dryer and they have been missing for a month. Bella has been missing a pair of black leggings and they just showed up in the dryer today! Where were they hiding???

Back to normal tomorrow, I hope everyone has a great week!

The weekend :)

Saturday night we went to a house warming for a guy Jason works with and I have never been around so many people with foreign accents in my entire life! There were people from Peru, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Australia (and then us if you want to include all the cool accents!).  We had a good time and it was nice to meet people that Jason works with.

Today I've been cleaning house and washing clothes. So fun. We tried Round Table Pizza and it was pretty good.

It finally quit raining after raining everyday this week!

I'm going tomorrow to buy sewing items to test out my new sewing machine!

I've got to find a desk for our computer. I want something sturdy, but I really don't want to spend too much on something that I'm not sure if we will need in our next house.
I also need a rug for our dining room. Any suggestions??

Happy Friday

It's raining and cold here again today, but it's Friday and a three day weekend so I'm excited!!

We ate at a Thai restaurant last night and then went to an Indian grocery store because we are invited to a house warming Saturday night and they are having Indian food. We bought Samosa which is a pastry filled with potatoes. Hopefully they are good!

I've got to clean this house this weekend. I have put it off long enough and it's starting to drive me crazy.

My sister will be here next Thursday and I can't wait!!!

My favorite Easter candy is out, Sweetart Ducks, Chicks & Bunnies! Yay!!

Tyler was measured at school this week for PE testing and he was 5'8! That means he has grown 3 inches since August. That also means he is 3 inches taller than me. It bothers me a little that I have to look up to him.

One of Finley's new favorite toys is an empty coke box!

This and That

It is cold and raining here today. Actually it's been like that all week and I think it's supposed to be that way the rest of the week.  I don't mind the rain as long as I don't have to be out in it, but it is messing up my running schedule. I ran for the first time in a while on Sunday and today is the first day that my legs are not super sore (sad, I know).

It's here!!!
My sewing/embroidery machine arrived yesterday. I'm really nervous to turn it on, I'm afraid I will mess something up. I haven't sewn since 8th grade in Home Economics class! So for now all the cords and instruction manual and the machine is sitting on my table waiting to be used. I have to go buy some patterns and fabric and all the other stuff you need to sew. I have so many things that I want to make, I just don't know where to start.

Bella's friend that came over last Friday was sick, so guess what, we got it too! Next time somebody gets in my car and they are sick I'm taking them back home. I think it is so rude to send your child to someone's house knowing they are sick. And I have a baby! Luckily it's just a cold and it's not a real bad one. Bella is coughing, Finley is a little congested, and my throat is sore and I'm congested too. I would have thought that I have had every strain of the cold virus by now, but I guess not.

The boy

I just wanted to brag on Tyler for a minute. I don't talk about him much on here so I decided to dedicate a post to him. As you know, we have moved a lot in the past few years and while that is not easy on anyone, it's definitely not easy on someone his age. He spent 5th and 6th grade in Arizona, the first half of 7th grade in Las Vegas, and the second half in California.  He has made mostly all A's (a B had slipped in there twice) and has not got in any trouble at all three schools. He was also named Student of the Month at his school in Las Vegas.

Tyler has also not changed at all. He is always just Tyler and doesn't worry about what other people think. He is a sweet kid that loves his family and I hope that those teenage hormones don't get him into too much trouble!

There have been times that I worried we might totally mess him up since we were still trying to figure out who we were when we had him, but we must be doing something right.

I'm so proud of him and feel so blessed that he is my son!

He is still a Mama's boy (at least one of them is) and we have already made plans to live together at a retirement home!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I still can't believe it's Valentine's Day. This year is already going by fast.

I used to not be such a procrastinator, but the more kids I have the worse it gets! So today Fin and I had to go and buy a few more Valentine's presents. The kids opened their presents when Jason got home from work. We ate dinner and had Valentine's cupcakes for dessert. I wish I was one of those crafty people who does everything red and heart shaped on Valentine's day, but I'm not so we eat cupcakes from Safeway!

                                                                    Cupcakes!

She is looking at her like she is crazy!

Now I wish I would have taken some of these with just the regular camera, oh well.

I think Finley is getting a cold so the next few days will probably be miserable for her. I hate when she is sick, I feel so bad for her!

Bella's two bottom front teeth are loose. I think she is the only child in first grade that hasn't lost a tooth! She is pretty pumped about it :)

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's day!

Food, and then some more food.

Last night we went on our date and ate at a place named Giuseppe's. I had chicken parmigiana and Jason got feta cheese chicken and they were both really good. Finley ate a little bit of everything and she loved it.
Then we we went to Pinkberry (the best ever) for frozen yogurt.  My favorites are original and coconut, I wanted coconut last night and Jason did too so we got one to share. He always wants to share because it's cheaper to get a larger one than two smaller ones, but I hate sharing with him. It's supposed to be 50/50, but it usually ends up 70/30 with him getting the 70%! I think I could eat a large all by myself so a medium between the two of us is never enough. And of course Finley eats some too!

When we got home Tyler and Bella were watching a movie so they didn't kill each other!! It's funny how they get along just fine when Jason and I aren't around.

Today we signed Bella up for Soccer and Tyler for Guitar lessons. The town here has so many extracurricular activities that it was hard for them to choose. Then we tried the 202 Grille. It was great! I got a club sandwich and Jason a pesto chicken sandwich. Bella got chicken fingers and fries like always!  Finley tried ketchup for the first time today and LOVED it! She was licking it off her food and then wanting to dip it again.

Have you noticed that most of my post mention food in them at least one? Our favorite thing to do on the weekends is eat out. I guess it's kind of a hobby :)

I downloaded these camera apps for my phone a while back and just tried them for the first time today and I love them. Here are a few that I took today.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday!

Bella had a friend over to play this afternoon and I snapped this picture as we were leaving the park. I thought it was so cute! I'm really surprised Finley would hold their hands, usually she gets mad if you grab her hand.

Jason and I (and Finley) are going out to eat tonight for my birthday! We are going to try out an Italian place close to our house. This will be the first time that Tyler has watched Bella for longer than 30 minutes or so. Hopefully they won't kill each other.

I ordered one of these necklaces yesterday in silver from Alter Designs on Etsy and I'm so excited. I'm not sure why I like them so much, but I do. Of course I got the Alabama one.  Jason and I saw some on E last night that were a little different but they also started at $129. These are on $18!

I hope everyone has a great Friday!!
