Some baby news and a wedding

Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and I had to do that horrible glucose test, which I failed! They drew some blood and sent it off and hopefully it will come back okay. I should know by Friday. If not I will have to do the even worse three hour test. I have passed the test with my other three so hopefully it was just a fluke.

I also found out for sure that the umbilical cord only has two vessels. Most have three, one vein and two arteries, but mine only has one vein and one artery. It can be a soft marker for some chromosomal problems and birth defects, but since I had the first and second trimester screenings and everything came back normal they were not worried about any of that. It can also cause growth restrictions, but he is exactly the size he is supposed to be so they will continue to do ultrasounds every 4-8 weeks to make sure he is growing as he should be.  I had never even heard of Single Umbilical Artery until they told me at 18 weeks that they thought the cord might be that way. The doctor said not to worry about it because the baby looks great, but I'm still a little nervous about it.

The baby weighed 2 pounds and 1 ounce and it's still definitely a boy! Something has been in my ribs for the past few days and we found out today that it's his head. I'm hoping he will change positions soon ;)

I will be 27 weeks tomorrow which is the last week of my second trimester.

Out New Years Eve will probably be pretty boring this year. Of course anything is better than last years when I had a terrible stomach virus and was hugging the toilet most of the night!

My brother is getting married on New Years day and both of the girls are in the wedding. It will be interesting/hilarious to see how Finley acts. Bella is really excited because she really wants to be in a wedding. She is also going to be in one in July so this should be good practice for her.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

We always let the kids open the gifts from Jason and I on Christmas Eve morning. I'm not really sure how that tradition started, but it did so that is what we do. We also make cookies for Santa. Then Saturday night we headed to my parents house for food and presents. We always end up staying there really late so we are always really tired on Christmas morning, but it is so fun to be with my family on Christmas Eve!

                                                        She couldn't resist!

                                                         My sister and I
                                                     Tyler and my niece, Kayce
                                                           Opening presents!

Then on Christmas morning the kids opened their gifts from Santa Clause. Then we headed to Jason's moms house for lunch and to open gifts. By the time we got there Finley was no longer interested in opening presents. I don't think she opened a single one.

Then Monday afternoon we went to Jason's dads house for dinner and gifts.

We had a great Christmas this year, but I can't believe it's already over. The kids got tons of toys and Finley and Bella's rooms are completely full! Finley's birthday is in a few weeks and I have no idea what we will do with all of that stuff.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Sickness and Santa

So the week started off with a bang when Finley got sick and puked all over a 10 month old's head. At the time I thought it was food poisoning because she never acted like she felt bad, but we learned on Thursday that it was definitely a stomach virus because Bella called from school sick and then Friday I had to pick up Tyler early too because he was feeling sick. So Bella missed her basketball game Friday night and Tyler missed the Christmas party he was invited to with all his friends from school. Hopefully all the sickness is gone from our house for a long time!
Poor Bella on the way to pick Tyler up from school last Friday.

Thursday night Jason and I went to Brookwood Hospital's unmedicated childbirth class. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really good. It was taught by an labor and delivery nurse and she told us a lot of good information and tips on how to avoid interventions. While she gave as much information as she could in two hours I'm still planning on taking some more natural birth classes to get as much information as I possibly can. We were the only couple pregnant with our fourth child, actually there wasn't even anyone pregnant with their third. There were only two pregnant with their second.

Saturday night we had a Christmas party for my granny. She is 81 and has Alzheimer's but she still remembers all the grand kids and all of the great grand kids except for Finley. Finley is the youngest so I think since she was born after my granny started forgetting things she forgets about her. It's weird because she remembers things that Finley does but she forgets that I have a third child. We had a great time and it was nice seeing my family since I haven't seen most of them since I moved 3 years ago.

Today was the last day of school until after the new year. OLS has an Advent Christmas program every year and it is always so good. Bella's class sang a couple of songs and I love hearing their sweet little voices. They then had their Christmas parties and were dismissed from school at 12. I love Christmas break! We are always busy, but it is nice having everyone home and not having to wake up at 6 every morning!

I took Finley to see Santa today and she would not sit in his lap. She was really more interested in the fountain outside than she was with Santa. She did wave at him and took the candy cane. Maybe next year she will be more interested in Santa Clause ;)

Tomorrow I've got to clean the house since it has been a few weeks since I have deep cleaned. The tub did receive a good scrubbing last night since Finley pooped in there, but at least that is one thing off the list. I have to clean the tub at least once a week. In the last week or so it has had poop, vomit, and an assortment of food that gets stuck on Finley. Anytime we eat Italian food there is always a red ring around it from all the sauce she gets on her.

I'm 25 weeks and 4 days pregnant now. This pregnancy is flying by. We still haven't picked out a name, but we will figure it out eventually. I still feel great and I think this maybe the best I have ever felt during a pregnancy. I'm still walking 5 days a week and I think that helps with how I feel. You just always feel better after you get some exercise. Here is a 25 week picture.

Lately

I just realized that I didn't blog at all last week. I like to do it at least once a week just so I don't forget anything big that happened. Oh well, if something did happen I have already forgotten about it!

Tyler and Bella both had tournament games on Saturday. Bella's team won and she scored one basket and two free throws! Tyler's team got pretty much destroyed, but he looked good. The other team was just really good. Tyler's plays again Thursday night and Bella plays Friday night.

Finley might be the nosiest toddler ever! Every time I get off the phone she ask "who's that?"!

I finally got all the Christmas presents that I have bought so far wrapped. It took me two hours and several rolls of wrapping paper. I just might be the worlds worst present wrapper! My wrapping is TERRIBLE! For any other occasion I buy gift bags, but for some reason I just feel like Christmas presents should be wrapped. I still have a few more presents to get and I knew I wouldn't be done early. I just can't finish before the week of Christmas. Why??

This week is turning out to be a busy one. Tyler had basketball practice Monday and Bella had it last night. Nothing tonight. I'm eating lunch with my cousin and then Jason and I are going to the unmedicated birth class at Brookwood Thursday night and Tyler has a game. Tyler has a Christmas party Friday night and Bella has a basketball game. Saturday night is my Granny's Christmas party. Sunday we have a meeting at school about first reconciliation for Bella. Whew! I'm tired just thinking about it!

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

(I meant to post this blog yesterday, but I felt like poo all day so everything is a day behind.)

23 Months

I guess this will be the next to the last monthly post I will do on Finley. I can't believe she will be 2 years old a month from today! I want to cry thinking about how much she has grown and changed and there is no going back to her being a baby. Just in the past few days she seems to have matured. She is saying full sentences and asking questions. She is independent and wants to do things by herself. She will play in her room and keep herself entertained. She LOVES my iPhone and will sit by me and play games for 30 minutes or so. Bella and Finley have started playing together a little. Bella will get really frustrated because Finley won't do as she says, but at least they are not fighting all the time.

She had her first stomach virus or food poisoning on Sunday. I'm still not sure which it was because we all ate the same thing and none of us have been sick at all. It could just be that something didn't settle well with her stomach. She was feeling much better yesterday and I think she will be back to 100% today.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year. She still won't really understand what is going on, but I know she will enjoy opening presents. She loves looking at Christmas lights and rearranging ornaments on Christmas trees!

She is still a great eater and likes pretty much everything. She loves cabbage, collard greens and salad. Pretty much anything that Jason is eating she will eat. She really likes stuffed animals now and still loves reading books. She will come up to me out of the blue and give me a hug and say "I lot (love) you mommy"! It melts my heart! I just want to squeeze her when she does that.

Her life is going to change so much in the next few months and I'm going to cherish the next 3 1/2 months that we have before she becomes a big sister (and I'm crying as I write this!).

Eating collard greens with Jason, yuck!!
She loves playing on the stairs :)

Happy December!

Can you believe it's December 1st? I really can't! Just a year ago Jason was living and California and the kids and I were still in Las Vegas. It's amazing how much has changed in just a year.

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving has already come and gone and Christmas is just a few weeks away. I'm so excited about Christmas this year. We are home so we get to spend it with our family on the days we are supposed to and not whatever day we fly in. Our kids get to actually have Christmas on December 25th instead of the 24th or the 23rd because we have to be at the airport at 5:00 AM the next morning. We get to attend all of the Christmas parties that happen before Christmas.

Here is our tree this year. It's small and fits on the fireplace because that is all we have room for. It is kind of sad because we didn't have a tree last year either because we moved to California the week before Christmas, but I will make up for it next year (hopefully)!

Bella has her first basketball game this Friday. She is really excited about the game and loves practice. I can't wait to see her in action!

I don't want to jinx it, but Finley took a nap Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and I had to wake her up all three days to go pick up Tyler and Bella! Hopefully she just went through a little blip and is now back on track. She is WAY to young to not take naps!

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and baby boy and I are going good. I go back at the end of December and have to do that fun glucose test. Only four months to go!
