Our little house in California

It's not actually that small, just smaller than what we are used to. Hopefully our loud kids don't bother our really close neighbors.

When we found out we were moving to California I knew it was going to be expensive, but I really had no idea. This house is about 1200 square feet smaller and $800 more per month than our house in Henderson.

This house was built in the early 70's so there are some weird and unique features. One of those features is that there is no door to the master bathroom. It's just open to the bedroom. It's not like the toilet is sitting out in the middle of the floor or anything (it's tucked behind a little half wall) but that is still strange to me. The front door is on the side of the house. There is a little deck in the middle of the house and the kitchen, entry way, Tyler's room and Bella's room all have doors leading out to it. You can't get to it from the outside of the house.

Likes: no stairs, tons of windows, carpet, much easier to clean, the squirrels and birds that are always around.

Dislikes: Really the only thing I wish we had was another bedroom and a little bit more space. We use EVERY inch of this house. There are toys in every corner!
The view from our back deck.
                                                                Living Room

Dining room, I'm still looking for a desk!
The deck in the middle of the house.
Entry way, one day we will hang the mirror that's in the box!
See, no door to the bathroom!
Our sidewalk to the front door, and yes that is the neighbors house.
The front door is to the left and that little pathway leads to the back deck.

Since we've had stairs in all of our other houses I never really thought much about not having them, but I love it. I guess I'm getting lazy, but it's so nice to just walk down the hall and not have to climb 17 stairs to go to bed.

Over all I like the house. It could use some more updating, but who wants to put a lot of money in a rental house? I wouldn't buy it, but it works for now and we are happy in it.

(If you get bored you can play "Where's Finley?". She is in two of the pictures.)
